Gardens and growing locations
A garden is the broad place where you grow, such as Home Garden or Community Plot. A growing location is a bed, row, container, greenhouse shelf, or other defined space inside that garden.
Adding dimensions helps planning tools compare crop needs with recorded gross area. Dimensions do not prove that every square foot is empty or usable.
Plantings, tasks, and history
A planting can hold its variety, date, growing location, status, notes, watering settings, tasks, and harvest records. Completing or archiving a planting preserves the garden story instead of turning it back into catalog data.
Tasks tell you what may need attention. Your observations and completed actions make the record more useful over time.
From crop choice to a planting
Add a Plant is the decision point between catalog guidance and your real garden. Choose the crop, garden, and growing location first. If that crop has reviewed planning guidance and the location has dimensions, Food Planner can estimate how many plants may meet your goal and whether they fit.
Return to Add a Plant to choose one exact quantity and review the date, spacing, and status before saving. Supply List choices remain optional. Edaphia does not create a planting or shopping item merely because you selected a crop or viewed an estimate.
