Choose while you browse or plan
A signed-in member can choose seeds, transplants, or another reviewed planting-material type from crop and variety guides without first adding that crop to My Garden. Fertilizer and companion shopping actions are separate choices too. Clear a checkbox—or remove its item from the Supply List—to take it off without deleting a plant or recommendation.
Keep planting choices distinct
Edaphia keeps the crop, named variety, and planting-material type with the item. Seeds and transplants for the same variety remain separate, while choosing the same form twice does not create a duplicate. Optional Shopping List choices in Add a Plant are saved with the new plant or rolled back with it if the plant cannot be saved.
Calculated quantities
When enough structured information exists, Edaphia calculates a quantity and keeps the explanation available. A Food Planner estimate contributes an estimate-only planting-material need only until a real planting is linked. After that, linked planting records supply the quantity and the estimate is excluded so one crop plan is not counted twice.
Identical selected fertilizers consolidate into one shopping item while the “For” line keeps every associated crop visible.
Needs Review
Needs Review means a required structured input is missing or the safest amount depends on a product label, soil test, product density, or another decision Edaphia cannot make honestly. The selected item remains useful as a shopping note, but its quantity is not presented as settled.
Your checklist stays yours
- Add and edit manual supplies for tools, labels, repairs, or personal preferences.
- Check an item when it is already on hand, and uncheck it when you need it again.
- Override a selected recommendation quantity without erasing the original calculation, then reset to the calculation later.
- Use Update Selected Items when plans change; recommendations you did not choose stay off the list.
- Adding a private or pending crop, viewing Food Planner, or saving an estimate does not by itself create a settled shopping choice.
- Shopping choices do not create tasks, fertilizer applications, or reminders. Add those separately only when you want them.
- Some How-To guides offer a short list of optional tools. Ordinary ingredients and every physical noun do not become shopping items.
